The gold content in the ore is extremely low. In order to extract gold, the ore needs to be crushed and ground and the beneficiation method is used to pre-enrich or separate the gold from the ore. Gravity separation and flotation are more commonly used in gold beneficiation. Gravity separation plays a very important role in the production of placer gold. Flotation is a beneficiation method widely used in rock gold mines. About 80% of rock gold mines in China use this method to select gold, and the level of beneficiation technology and equipment has been greatly improved.

According to the survey, gold processing plants mostly use jaw crushers for coarse crushing, standard cone crushers for medium crushing, and short-head cone crushers and roller crushers for fine crushing. Most medium and small gold processing plants use two-stage one-closed-circuit crushing, and large gold processing plants use three-stage one-closed-circuit crushing process.

In order to improve the mineral processing production capacity and tap the potential of equipment, the crushing process was transformed to increase the utilization factor of the grinding mill. The main measures taken were to crush more and grind less, and reduce the particle size of the ore entering the mill.
